Sol Cycle: Autumn is a freeform crochet fiber artwork created in 2023 as part of Sol Cycle, a four-piece series representing the seasons. Each work contains a sun, a familiar and enduring symbol of continuity, return, and life force.
Autumn represents harvest, reckoning, and release. It is the moment when growth slows, energy turns inward, and what is no longer needed is shed. Colors deepen, textures grow heavier, and the form begins its descent toward rest.
Originally displayed as part of the full Sol Cycle installation, Autumn is now available as an individual work while remaining conceptually tied to the complete seasonal rhythm.
Materials and Process
Freeform crochet created using layered wool, yarn, thread, and mixed fibers. Constructed intuitively without a pattern, allowing the materials to guide form, weight, and movement. A natural amethyst is incorporated at the center, symbolizing reflection, wisdom, and inward transition.
