I created this Dreamcatcher as a protective fiber talisman rooted in ancestral symbolism and spiritual filtration. Hand dyed wool, hemp, and sari silk are formed through freeform crochet and macrame, allowing the structure to emerge organically rather than from pattern.
At the center, a recycled prism transforms sunlight into moving color during the day, symbolizing illumination, clarity, and spiritual cleansing. At night, the woven crochet lattice acts as a filter, capturing dark or disruptive energies before they may pass.
The carved bone sea turtle represents endurance, ancestral memory, and long protection across generations. Trade beads above and below the ring serve as guardians of lineage, while the glass evil eye bead watches continuously for malevolence.
This piece is both fiber sculpture and spiritual object. It is meant to hang where light enters, acting as a quiet protector and symbolic threshold between inner and outer worlds.
