Watcher of the Moon is part of my Dreamcatcher series and was created as a protective talisman for the dreamer. Built on a three-inch metal ring, this ornament is crocheted with hand-dyed wool and recycled sari silk, honoring both ancient symbolism and sustainable materials.
At the center is a hand-formed clay owl bead, a timeless symbol of guardianship, wisdom, and night vision. The yellow ring represents the moon, while the black webbed sky acts as a filter—catching bad dreams so fear and pain cannot pass through. The simple tied sari silk hanger and tassel ground the piece in humility and intention, while three beads—two glass and one African sand trade bead—represent balance, history, and connection across cultures.
This piece is meant to watch over the sleeper, offering quiet protection and emotional safety through the night.
