Watcher of the Tide
I move where water meets sky.
I follow the pull of the moon, and the rhythm of the currents.
My eye never closes. I watch over you while you rest.
I catch what drifts too close in the night, and return it to the darkness of the deep ocean.

Watcher of the Tide is a freeform crochet dreamcatcher that lives in a dreamlike space between sea and sky.
A fish flies over the moon, symbolizing intuition, transition, and the ability to move freely between emotional and spiritual realms. The moon is formed from a natural shell button, grounding the piece in ocean energy and natural cycles. The crocheted blue netting represents the sky — a dream field — while the wave-like stitches at the bottom evoke the motion and emotion of the sea.
The fish is shaped with internal wire and then crocheted with multi-colored, hand-dyed wool yarn, giving it structure while maintaining fluid movement. Its eye is an evil eye bead — always open, never blinking — traditionally believed to ward off bad dreams, harmful intentions, and intrusive energies.
The main ring is wrapped in recycled sari silk, adding history, texture, and softness. A macramé hemp hanger and tassel anchor the piece, finished with a glass bead on the hanger and a porcelain bead on the tassel — subtle markers of transition between above and below.
This piece is meant to protect sleep, honor intuition, and remind us that guardians can be gentle.

Care & Display Instructions
This piece is a one-of-a-kind, hand-crocheted fiber artwork made with natural and recycled materials. Gentle care will preserve its color, structure, and symbolic integrity.
Display
Intended for indoor display.
Hang away from direct sunlight to prevent natural fibers and hand-dyed wool from fading.
Best displayed in a calm space such as a bedroom, meditation area, reading nook, or entryway.
Avoid areas with high humidity or direct heat sources, which may weaken natural fibers over time.
Handling
Handle gently by the hanger, not the crocheted netting or fish.
This piece is decorative and symbolic — not meant to be pulled, stretched, or used as a functional net.
Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
Cleaning
Do not wash or submerge in water.
To remove dust, gently shake or use a soft brush or dry cloth.
Spot cleaning is not recommended due to mixed fibers and internal wire structure.
Storage
If storing, wrap loosely in acid-free tissue or cotton fabric.
Store flat or gently coiled in a dry, cool place.
Avoid plastic bags, which can trap moisture and cause fiber damage.
With mindful care, Watcher of the Tide will remain a protective presence and visual story for many years.
