Unmoored

I float..

I do not sink.

I do not swim..

I am suspended in a vast, shifting sea.

Grief does this. It loosens your tether to the world. The water carries me. The sky holds me. The moon watches over me. I am broken, but I am not lost. I drift beneath the light. Even when unmoored, I am still held.

The Fighter’s Heart

Unmoored is a conceptual landscape about grief as a state of suspension.. The broken heart floats in a textured sea, echoing the experience of feeling unanchored after loss—present, breathing, yet detached from solid ground.

Above it, the moon shines as a quiet witness. It does not intervene or fix; it simply remains. The heavy texture of the sea and sky reflects the emotional weight grief carries, while the wiring allows the piece to hover slightly away from the wall, reinforcing the sensation of floating rather than resting.
