I created Circle of Light in 2024 as a study of protection, movement, and illuminated transformation. The central ring is crocheted using my hand dyed wool blended with sari silk, producing a textured surface alive with color and vibration. A reclaimed crystal prism rests at the center, drawing in light and refracting it outward as a symbol of clarity, truth, and spiritual illumination.
African trade beads are placed along the vertical structure as markers of journey, exchange, and ancestral continuity. The red circle acts as a protective gateway representing vitality, sacred boundary, and the life force that moves through all living things. Macrame hemp binds the entire piece, grounding it in earth energy while connecting fiber, memory, and spirit into one continuous line of motion.
