Roots is a small, layered dreamcatcher built on a 3-inch wooden bracelet whose thickness allows for multiple planes of imagery, creating a diorama effect.
In the foreground, a tree formed from waxed hemp twine rises and breaks free of the circular boundary. Its roots extend beyond the frame, symbolizing growth, ancestry, and the refusal to be confined. Behind the tree sits a crocheted yellow moon made with hand-dyed wool, mounted on a separate ring. A red ring between layers adds depth and tension, while the black crocheted netting on the back serves to catch and hold harmful dreams.
The hanger is intentionally simple hemp twine, allowing the symbolism and structure to remain the focus.
