Rootlines is a one-of-a-kind, fully wet-felted wool scarf measuring 6½ feet in length, created entirely by hand using traditional fiber techniques.
The body of the scarf is formed from natural piebald sheep’s wool, left undyed to preserve its layered, living tones. There are soft browns, grays, and warm neutrals that emerge only through the felting process itself. Embedded throughout the length are vertical lines of hand-spun wool yarn, made on a drop spindle and dyed by hand. These lines are intentionally irregular, and detached in different spots, moving through the felt like roots, rain paths, or growth beneath the surface.
This piece is slow work. It carries the evidence of time, touch, and material conversation. It is designed to be worn not as an accessory, but as a textile statement—grounded, resilient, and deeply connected to the land from which its materials came.
