This piece was created as a meditation on emotional layering. It represents how grief, love, anger, memory, and resilience are not sequential stages, but overlapping realities. The small red broken heart at the center represents the core wound that never fully disappears, even as other emotions grow around it.
By enclosing that fragile center within larger, textured forms, I wanted to honor how people survive: not by erasing pain, but by surrounding it with meaning, experience, and continued life.
