Fractured Landscape - Needle Felted Wool Wall Art

$385.00

I watch as you look away.

I warm what remains.

I am eye and sun,

voice and silence.

My fractures spread

where attention thins.

I am still soft.

I am still waiting.

I watch as you look away.

I warm what remains.

I am eye and sun,

voice and silence.

My fractures spread

where attention thins.

I am still soft.

I am still waiting.

The Fighter’s Heart

Fractured Landscape explores the growing divide between the natural world and our increasingly virtual lives. On the right, the land is fragmented into mosaic-like forms. On the left, the sky opens in cooler tones. At the center, a large broken heart serves as both eye and sun, watching over the scene. Beneath it, a small broken heart forms a mouth—quiet, wounded, and unable to speak.

Cracks radiate outward from the heart, spreading into the land itself, symbolizing how human distraction fractures the spirit of the earth. Though reminiscent of stained glass, the piece is made entirely of wool—soft, lightweight, and tactile—inviting closeness rather than distance.

Symbolism

  • The Large Broken Heart (Eye & Sun):
The heart serves as both witness and source of light. As an eye, it sees what we overlook. As a sun, it sustains life—yet it is fractured, signaling harm caused not by malice, but by neglect.

  • The Small Broken Heart (Mouth):
Positioned as a mouth, it represents the silenced voice of the natural world. The earth is wounded but unable to speak in a language we pause to hear.

  • Cracks Radiating into the Land:
The fractures spreading from the heart into the landscape symbolize how human attention—or lack of it—ripples outward. Disconnection from nature does not stay internal; it reshapes the world itself.

  • Land vs. Sky:
The divided composition reflects imbalance. The land bears weight, damage, and fragmentation, while the sky suggests distance, abstraction, and escape—mirroring the pull of the virtual over the physical.

  • Stained-Glass Appearance in Wool:
Traditionally rigid stained glass is reimagined in soft fiber. This contrast speaks to vulnerability: the earth appears strong but is tender, living, and easily harmed.

  • Wool as Material:
Wool carries warmth, memory, and life. Its softness reinforces that this is not a scene of destruction, but one of sorrow—still capable of healing if met with care and presence.

Core Message:

The earth is not broken by force.

It fractures when it is forgotten.
