I created Summer Mandala in 2023 using freeform crochet and thin, hand-dyed wool yarn. The piece features a mandala at the neckline that radiates outward into sculptural, flowing crochet across the bust, with an intentional opening above the navel.
Long fringe hangs below the bust, adding motion and rhythm. Ties at the neck and beneath the bust allow the fit to remain fully adjustable, making the piece adaptable rather than prescriptive.
Created during the cold months, Summer Mandala is wearable art that calls for warmth, movement, festival energy, and the return of sun-soaked days.

Symbolism
The mandala represents cycles, continuity, and return. The open space above the navel speaks to breath, vulnerability, and embodiment. Fringe emphasizes movement and rhythm. This piece honors festival culture, summer freedom, and the body in motion.
