I created this fiber art pin using a layered crochet process that combines soft natural materials with sculptural wire. The base of the piece is crocheted wool built around a repurposed bangle bracelet, creating a strong circular structure.
Over the wool I crocheted a cotton overlay to introduce contrast, color, and texture. I then crocheted black art wire across the surface to create a net structure that both holds the piece together and adds sculptural dimension.
At the center is a spiral bead. The spiral is one of humanity’s oldest symbols. It represents growth, evolution, and the inward and outward journey of consciousness. I enjoy placing ancient symbols inside contemporary fiber work so that each piece becomes a small talisman.

Symbolism
The spiral is a universal symbol found across cultures and ancient traditions. It represents the unfolding of life, personal evolution, and the movement of energy through time.
The circular form represents wholeness and continuity. The layered structure of wool, cotton, and wire reflects the way strength and softness coexist within transformation.
