I created Rippled Cortex as a reflection on the movement of thought within the brain.
The cortex is where perception, memory, emotion, and reasoning intersect. Thoughts travel through it continuously, rippling outward as we interpret our experiences and shape our understanding of reality.
The colorful rippled lines represent the pathways of thought and emotion moving through the mind.
The white spiral forms represent encapsulated memories. These are the experiences the brain sets aside when they feel too difficult to confront. They remain present within the mind, influencing the way thoughts move and interact.
This piece reflects the idea that understanding requires confronting our own shadows. Just as every human mind contains both darkness and light, the world itself is shaped by the same balance.
Truth becomes visible only when we are willing to see both.
