This trainee witch hat was created as an exploration of form, intuition, and growth.
I allowed the wool to guide the final shape, choosing a natural edge with a slight flare rather than imposing strict structure. The taller crown emerged organically during the felting process, creating a silhouette that feels confident and expansive without being rigid.
Purple forms the foundation of the piece, layered with subtle accents of blue, green, gold, and pink. These colors were blended by hand to create depth and movement, revealing themselves differently in changing light. The hat is fully hand-felted from wool using traditional techniques, shaped slowly and finished with care.
This piece is one of a kind. It is made to be worn, lived in, and shaped further by the person who chooses it.

🔮 SYMBOLISM
The Trainee Witch Hat represents becoming.
The unrolled edge symbolizes a stage before structure, when intuition leads and rules have not yet formed. The taller crown reflects growth, awareness, and a willingness to stand fully in one’s emerging identity. Purple speaks to wisdom and inner vision, while the scattered colors reflect curiosity, experimentation, and the layered nature of learning.
This is a hat for witches who are listening closely, walking slowly, and trusting what rises next.
